The client’s goal was twofold: protect the vulnerable entryway and enclose the entire outdoor area using Ziptrak blinds. The irregularities of the existing structure, namely the rounded end sections. The project entailed the installation of a total of 8 Ziptrak blinds to fully encapsulate the outdoor area. At the far end of the space, we encountered the unique problem of two curved roofs converging. To address this, we engineered two custom powder-coated aluminum flashings to enclose the upper openings above our Ziptrak blinds. We further designed a custom aluminum-framed infill panel, covered in matching material, to seamlessly integrate the challenging end section between our newly installed blinds and the house.
