About OFPANZ

The founders of the Association in 1988 set out to establish an industry-led network which would promote and develop a world class outdoor fabric products sector and assist the member enterprises become successful and profitable. The Outdoor Fabric Products Association is an incorporated society of some 70 members, organized into Northern, Central, and Southern branches. It is a constituent industry group of Business NZ and all financial members receive the rights and privileges of corporate affiliation to Business NZ.

It is governed by an Executive Committee elected annually by and from members of its Northern, Central, and Southern branches, supplier members, plus the National Secretary, who is based in Christchurch.

Our membership comprises companies involved in the fabrication and supply of outdoor fabric products - incorporating canvas and PVC manufacturers in the marine and sailmaking, camping equipment, marquee manufacture, domestic and commercial awning, canopies, and sunshade sail markets, tarpaulins, transport industry, motor trimming and upholstery, saddlery, and leather products, etc. In addition, the association enjoys the support of companies involved in the supply of materials and components to the above sectors.

Mission Statement

The Mission Statement of the Association is "To promote, develop and protect the interests of the manufacture, trading, and marketing of all outdoor fabric products to recognized standards and quality."

OFPANZ AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN THE INDUSTRY 2009 SUPREME WINNER

Congratulations to Fabric Shelter Systems of Whangarei for their achievement with their entry in Category 10 - Inflatables!

This temporary venue was developed for Christchurch City Council for two purposes:

1) The Annual Ellerslie Flower Show held in Hagley Park

2 ) And to accommodate an ice skating rink in Cathedral square in the winter.

The 30m inflatable dome offered a cost effective solution that was easily deployed.
